Mitsubishi has announced a series of industrial controllers with cyber security.
“MX Controller has received TÜV Rheinland certification according to IEC 62443-4-1 and IEC 62443-4-2 standards. This certification verifies protection against unauthorised access and cyber attacks for industrial infrastructure,” according to the company. “The controller includes specific security features such as encrypted
communication, user authentication and access control mechanisms, and secure data storage.”
Each integrates sequence control, motion control and network communication within a single unit.
There are two basic types:
- MXF with 30Mbyte of memory, eight or 16 axes, 16 logic inputs and 16 logic outputs
- MXR with 100 or 150Mbyte, between 16 and 256 axes, and no logic inputs or outputs
Communication is via CC-Link IE TSN, with the time-sensitive networking improving synchronisation across devices and networks.
Synchronisation cycles as short as 125μs are available.
